Sayville Crime Report: Drug Arrests, Harassment Incidents

A list of recent police activity in Sayville and West Sayville as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incidents list regarding Bayport-Blue Point. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions. 

Arrests

  • On Nov. 28, Vincenzo Ferrara from Syosset was arrested in Sayville on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Brian Schinella from West Sayville was arrested in Sayville on Nov. 29 on a charge of operation of a motor vehicle impaired by drugs.
  • Sayville resident Miles Whittaker was arrested in Sayville on a charge of criminal possession of marijuana on Nov. 29.
  • On Dec. 2, Matthew Zis from Sayville was arrested in Blue Point on a charge of obstruction of a governmental administration.
  • James Vocht from Sayville was arrested in Patchogue on a charge of driving while intoxicated on Dec. 4.

Incidents

  • On Dec. 2, police were notified of an incident of criminal mischief on Railroad Avenue in Sayville at 5 p.m.
  • At 10 p.m. on Dec. 4, a Henry Street resident in Sayville notified police of an incident of harassment.
  • Police were alerted of an incident of harassment on Broadway Avenue in Sayville on Dec. 4 at 9:40 p.m.
  • On the same day, a burglary was reported to police on Potomac Lane in Sayville at 3:30 p.m.
  • Again on Dec. 4, an incident of harassment was reported to police on Sunrise Highway in Sayville at 6 p.m.
