Crime Report: Marijuana and DWI's

A list of recent police activity in Bayport and Blue Point as reported by the 5th Precinct.

This information is taken directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incidents list regarding Bayport and Blue Point. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. All defendant are innocent until proven guilty. Complaints listed are alleged crimes under local investigation.

Arrests

  • On Jan. 18, Daniel Mandriota from Bayport was arrested in Bayport for possession of marijuana.
  • Blue Point resident Andrew Francino was arrested in Blue Point for possession of marijuana on Jan. 18.
  • Amir Elnawawy from Central Islip was arrested in Bayport for driving while intoxicated on Jan. 19.
  • Gary Salzano from Bayport was arrested in Bohemia for possession of a controlled substance on Jan. 21
  • Bayshore resident Ssuarlin Maldonado was arrested in Bayport on Jan 22. for driving while intoxicated.
  • On Jan. 22, Christina Cahill from Farmingville was arrested in Bayport for driving while intoxicated.
  • Bruce Wehnke from Rocky Point was arrested in Bayport for driving while intoxicated on Jan. 22.

Incidents

  • An incident of grand larceny was reported to police on Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. on Gillette Avenue in Bayport.
  • On the same day, police were notified of an incident of harassment involving a violent son on Middle Road in Blue Point around 4:30 p.m.
  • On Jan. 21 at 6 p.m., Nelson Avenue residents in Blue Point alerted police of criminal mischief to their car during the night.
