Crime Report: Five Arrests, Two Incidents
A list of recent police activity in Bayport and Blue Point as reported by the 5th Precinct.
This information is taken directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incidents list regarding Bayport and Blue Point. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. All defendant are innocent until proven guilty. Complaints listed are alleged crimes under local investigation.
Arrests
- On Feb. 25, Michael Mede from Blue Point was arrested in Bayport for criminal possession of marijuana.
- On the same day, Andrew Francino from Blue Point was arrested in Blue Point for robbery.
- Bayport resident Henry Wittich was arrested in Blue Point for driving while intoxicated on Feb. 26.
- On Feb. 27, Daniel Gilmour from Blue Point was arrested in Ronkonkoma for assault with intent to cause physical injury.
- Joel Velazquez from Moriches was arrested in Bayport for forgery and unauthorized use of a vehicle on Feb. 28.

- An incident of criminal mischief on Sunrise Highway in Blue Point was reported to police on Feb. 25 at 2 a.m.
- Police were notified of an incident of assault on Middle Road in Blue Point on Feb. 26 at 11:30 p.m.
