Community Parade in Honor of B-BP HS State Champ Athletes
The community celebration Tuesday night honored district athletes.
It was a perfect night for a parade in Bayport on Tuesday as the Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce sponsored a celebration honoring high school athletes won won state champion titles this past Spring sports season.
The boys varsity baseball team, which went 27-0 and won the Class A state title, and several members of the boys varsity track and field team who garnered state titles in their respective contests, were feted and congratulated by community members. The event drew about 200 and included a ceremony during which politicians awarded proclamations noting the athletic achievements.
The Bayport and Blue Point Fire Department served as parade escorts, and food and beverage was provided by local businesses.
