Sayville Teacher Named Elementary Science Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Sayville Lincoln Avenue teacher Melinda Moran who was recently recognized as the 2013 Elementary Science Teacher of the Year by the Suffolk County Science Teachers Association of New York State (STANYS).

“Ms. Moran joins an elite group of science educators,” Awards Committee Co-Chairperson and STANYS President Brian Vorwald states in the letter to the district, “who have demonstrated that they are not only outstanding classroom teachers, but have been involved in endeavors that have provide students and teachers with programs and strategies for the advancement of science, in and out of the classroom.

Moran has promoted the enhancement of science education with distinction and has earned the respect of her colleagues.”  Moran will be honored at the Annual Awards dinner held in May.
