The Bayport-Blue Point High School High School Chorus and Orchestra participated in the "Festivals of Music" Competition in the Washington D.C./Baltimore area during the weekend of April 12.

The High School String Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, and High School Chorus all received ratings of "Excellent."  The High School String Orchestra received an award of First Place, the High School Chorus received an award of Second Place, and the High School Concert Orchestra received a Third Place award in the groups' three respective divisions.

The weekend also included a dinner/dance cruise around Baltimore's Inner Harbor, a day at Six Flags America, and a morning of sight-seeing around downtown Baltimore.  A great time was had by the 218 students, and the teacher and parent chaperones that went on the trip.
