Bayport Meadows Groundbreaking Slated for Late Summer

The developer of a 150-unit townhouse community in Bayport hopes to break ground within the next 60 days and have model units available for viewing and purchase by the late Fall.

The Bayport Meadows development is geared toward 55 and older and will be located on Church Street, just south of Sunrise Highway, next to the Wenner Bread factory and opposite a 17-home community on the west side of the street.

The project has been several years in the making. Northwind Group developer Jim Tsunis told Patch Thursday in a phone interview he hopes to break ground by early September.

According to the project’s website, the units’ housing design will feature classical woodwork, steep roofs and wide porches. The town homes will be two-master bedroom suites providing a living room, eat-in kitchen, private office/open loft area and two and one-half baths.

Other standard features will include a gas fireplace, granite kitchen countertops, a full basement, Brazilian cherry wood floors and a two-car garage with carriage style doors.

The website indicates sale price will be in the $400,000 range.

There will be a clubhouse fashioned after the Bayport aerodrome with a kitchen, great room, billiard room and fitness area. The community will also feature an indoor and outdoor pool, bocce court and putting green.
