April Warren was born and raised in Sayville. Her interest in journalism sparked in middle school and continued at Stony Brook University where she became editor in chief of The Statesman, a campus publication.
April’s career has included internships at Newsday, CBS and The Southampton Press. In 2009, she traveled to China through a journalism study abroad program where she witnessed the aftermath of the Urumqi riots.
April graduated in May with her master's in journalism from Columbia University.
