I am a Bayport resident. I live about 2 minutes from the Parrot, and I never had an issue with itRead More being here. I actually go there about once a week. And it appauls me that some of my neighborhood residents are acting this way. Do you even know that my friend passed away last year and they hosted a benifit for him. Yes it was during the day and yes there was music and about 300 people showed up from Bayport and the surronding areas to pay tribute to the young mans life. It is apparent that the people that are complaining about this place have not been there and are just agravated over the fact it's there. Patchogue is 1000 times worse 15 bars live music and houses right on top of everything going on. It is nice to have a spot right in Bayport that is entertaining and convient. It's clean, the outside is kept beautiful. And it's nice to see whats going on when you drive by. There are no houses even remotely on top of this bar. And if you hear a little music sit back and enjoy it. There has not been from what I heard any issues, fights or a bad rap about this place. Yes the summer is coming and I can not wait to walk over to the bar, sit ourside and have a drink with my friends and enjoy the music.

I think that the old style was more homey as befitting a small town news site and easier toRead More navigate. The new style is like one of those Russian shell dolls- you're not sure where you're going and you don't know where you'll end up.

Make the fonts darker/bolder so they show up better on smaller formats such as smart phones andRead More iPads (not a fan of sans serif fonts), otherwise, okay & easy to navigate.

It's really a tough location for a deli. There's not enough exposure or foot traffic. Maybe aRead More small take out place - Fried Chicken or soup and salads - where advertising would help market it and it would not require a seating area.

Hey Steve :) Yes that's the area and I got an update from the Town regarding the slips which I'llRead More be posting Monday. Next time you email the town email Patch too!!!

The area is opposite the ferries. I emailed pix to the town more than a month ago. Got no response.Read More I'm shocked the people who rent the spaces from the town don't raise more of a ruckus. Boats are already in those slips. Some boats rest on the bottom much of the time.

Browns River fills up with sand on the Bayport side because the ferries turn that way. If theyRead More turned the other way they would fill up their side and they don't want that. The problem is that the ferries are too big for that small waterway. You can't blame everything on Sandy. This is not the first time the Town has to dredge the river because of the actions of the ferries.
