Family Fun Tonight, Reiki, Gardening & a Peaceful Walk This Weekend

There is something for everyone's interests taking place.

The big issue this weekend isn't not having enough fun things to do, but making the tough decisions among all the choices as there are some great events planned this weekend between Blue Point and West Sayville.

Here's a list of events and programs taking place:

Friday, August 16

Family Fridays
 Strummin' and Drummin' with a trio of Long Island musicians who bring plenty of instruments so everyone can sing and play along.  Fun starts at 6:30 pm at the Common Ground in Sayville.

OPERA AND BEYOND The Sayville Young People's Opera Workshop  will present its 18th annual summer The Sayville Young People's Opera Workshop  will present their 18th annual summer showcase "OPERA AND BEYOND" at 7:30 p.m. in the air-conditioned David M Jones auditorium at the Sayville Middle School, 291 Johnson Avenue, Sayville.  This year's presentation will include choruses, solos and arias, duets, trios, and ensemble performances from such operas, operettas and musical theatre pieces as Cavalleria Rusticana, La Boheme, Carmen, Lakme, Turandot, HMS Pinafore, New Moon, Phantom of the Opera, Secret Garden, Wicked, Carousel, South Pacific, Oliver and Little Shop of Horrors.  There is no admission charge.

Saturday, August 17

Reiki Healing a gentle calming energy that provides comfort and relief on many levels - not a substitute for medical care, but a complement. 12pm Sayville Common Ground.

Gardening in the Park Summer garden maintenance at Sayville Common Ground. 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
