Movie Nights, Cooking Healthy & Library Book Bingo This Week

That's just a few of many programs for young and older this week.

As summer winds down the pressure is on to make sure you enjoy every free moment. So to help make sure you don't miss any events this week, Patch offers up this guide to the week ahead. There seems to be something for everyone happening this week. For any library program, please call ahead to ensure available seating as program registration is usually at the start of each month.

Monday, August 19

Movie at B-BP Library: Parental Guidance
1:00 PM - 2:45 PM
Starring: Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, Marisa Tomei, Tom Everett Scott, Bailee Madison. Plot: Old-school grandparents Artie and Diane get more than they bargained for when they get stuck babysitting.

Tuesday, August 20

An Evening of Art & Music
St John's Lutheran Church, 48 Greene Ave, Sayville
7:30 pm ( 6:30 Artist Exhibit) 
Rachel White, soprano, with Cynthia Holden, accompanist and Keara Finnegan, oboe, present a recital of sacred favorites, show tunes, spirituals, jazz and more. Suggested minimum donation of $10 toward St. John's Organ Fund for the exhibit and concert with light refreshments.

Wednesday, August 21

Sayville Library: Get Ready to Go Back to School Program

Ages 3-5 w/Caregiver.
Join A Time for Kids for an hour of getting into the school mood. Brush up on school skills and get your preschooler or kindergartner
ready for the transition back to school.

Cool & Healthy Summer Cooking with Chef Rob
Bayport-Blue Point Library
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Get into the summer swing of cooking with Chef Rob Scott! Chef Rob will be demonstrating how to make chilled lemon mango soup with blueberries, watermelon arugula salad with toasted almonds and a fresh corn and basil salad. Yum! Fee: $5 payable by check only.

Jo-ann Tiranno of The Passionate Palate will be here to teach you all about the phytonutrients in different juices. Ms. Tiranno will also be blending up fruits and veggies in various combinations and teach you how to make different smoothies and protein shakes. You’ll get to enjoy different smoothie samples while learning how to be healthier! BPA125

Teen Movie Night

Ages 10 & Up.
Join us for an evening filled with
pizza, fun and a movie.

Bake Sale
Cherry Grove Ferry Terminal, Browns River Road, Sayville
Run by the Bayport Methodist Church.
Take some fresh baked breads, quiches, muffins and cookies to the beach house to eat and share with friends.  All proceeds go towards helping the Bayport United Methodist Church serve the community.

Bellport Rotary's Charity Beer, Wine, and Food Tasting
7:00 PM 
Bellport Country Club, 40 South Country Rd, Bellport
Please join us at our sixth annual Charity Beer, Wine, and Food Tasting. All proceeds will go to local causes like the Boys and Girls Club of the Bellport Area, the Gift of Life 726, Camp Paquatuck (a Rotary sponsored Camp for handicapped children), annual scholarships for local students, and other local charities.
