The Week Ahead: BOE Meeting, Swim Program Registration & Football Games

As school kicks off there are lots of things happening this week.

It’s officially the first day of school for the Sayville-Bayport-Blue Point communities and Patch first wants to wish every student, teacher, administrator and staff throughout both districts an enjoyable day.

School kick-off is just one of may events this week. To help you stay on top of local community news here’s a run down of what’s happening between Blue Point and Sayville this week:

Monday, Sept. 9

The Sayville Library will hold its board meeting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the conference room.

Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013

The Common Ground Moonlight Memorial Service for 9/11 will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Attendees are encourage to bring chairs. The schedule of events include the following:

The Golden Flashes Varsity football team takes on Westhampton at home at 4 p.m.

Registration for the Sayville Community Swim Program will be held starting at 6 p.m. at Sayville Middle School Main Lobby; Johnson Ave. Sayville. The swim program itself starts on Sept. 16. For more information please call 1-516-578-8792 or email 3434_1@msn.com

The Bayport-Blue Point Library board will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. at the library on Blue Point Avenue. 
                      

Thursday, Sept. 12

There is a Sayville School Board of Education workshop at 7 p.m. at the administration center.                    

The Bayport-Blue Point Varsity Phantoms football team heads to Babylon for a game starting at 6 p.m.

A pre-licensing course will be held at Sayville Library for ages 16 and older.The program runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bring your Learner’s Permit to class! A non-refundable fee of $35.00 is required at registration.Checks or money orders made out to Sayville Library. Call ahead to determine if seats are still available.
