Brrrr Temps, Sayville Play, Town Planning, ZBA Meetings

A look ahead at the first full week of the New Year.

Now with all the holidays past, and the first big winter storm of 2014 slowly melting away, Patch wants to help readers get back on the usual work and school  schedule and offers up insight on what’s happening around town this week.

Bundle, Layer and Bundle Some More

While Hercules didn’t deliver on its blizzard promise in most areas, with just six inches of light snow in most towns, Mother Nature promises to hit the south shore with a big whammy this week when it comes to wind chill. While rain is expected Monday, with a high temp of 50 degrees, it won’t stay for long. Tuesday is the big chill day with temps dropping down to single digits, according to the Natioal Weather Service, with a high of 15 degrees in Sayville during day hours and a low of 6 degrees in the evening. Temps slowly rise the rest of the week with a chance of more snow coing on Thursday.
