W. Sayville FD Re-Dedicates War Memorial

Patch sincerely thanks Warren Horst for providing the information and photographer Gary Gerard for sharing the photos.

The West Sayville Fire Department held a re-dedication ceremony for its War Memorial Park as part of its recent Memorial Day celebration and remembrance ceremony.

Past and current fire department leaders, including West Sayville Fire Department Ex-Chief Stanley A. Thuma , a World War II Navy veteran, and Ex-Chief William R. Leigh-Manuell, a United States Army Veteran, participated in the ceremony.

The War Memorial Park, located in front of the headquarters station, was rededicated to reflect the refurbishing of the original memorial stone and plaque and the addition of the two complimenting stones which now recognize all known residents of the West Sayville-Oakdale Fire District who gave their lives in service to our country from the Civil War to present day.
