St. Baldrick's Returning to Cavanaugh's

Get your head shaved to benefit childhood cancer research on April 21.

Mark you calendars: St. Baldrick's is coming back to .

The Blue Point restaurant and pub will host its second "head-shaving event" on Saturday, April 21 to support the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which funds childhood cancer research grants.

The first St. Baldrick's event at Cavanaugh's last year was successful, with more than 125 heads shaved and more than $36,000 raised, according to organizers Patrick and Christine Wehrle.

"On several occasions, Chris Cavanagh, his family and friendly staff at Cav’s have displayed their overwhelming generosity through various charity events," the Wehrles, of Blue Point, said in a statement. "Chris and his team, along with Linda and her staff from Head Cutters in Bayport, will again join us in what we expect to be a great day."

The event will run from 11 a.m - 3 p.m. and will also include an open buffet, Chinese auction, music and a festive indoor/outdoor family setting.
