Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to
changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
Members are called Kiwanians and they definitely showed their
commitment to the Kiwanis mission during the first few days of
August.
With wheels spinning, hands dealing and raffles being sold,
Kiwanians teamed up with the Sayville Fire Department to run two
Casino Nights to raise funds for community service initiatives.
A group of early risers helped with preparations for the 106
Rescue Wing Air National Guard Family Day in Westhampton
Beach. They prepared trays of delicious sandwiches for families to
enjoy throughout the day.
To round out the weekend, members gathered in Medford to send
five campers off to a week of fun at Kamp Kiwanis. This coed
camp has the capacity of 130 campers per week and sits on 102
acres of open and wooded land in the rolling western foothills
of the Adirondack Mountains.
Every year, the Kiwanis Club of Sayville sends a group of five children to camp for a week.
