Mitch’s Run Set For This Weekend

Pre-event set for Friday evening at la Tavola.

On August 11, 2006, The Cangelosi Family suffered a devastating loss when Mitchell passed away.

Mitchell Cangelosi was a dedicated son, brother, teacher, lifeguard and friend to many. In Mitchell’s memory, his family established a scholarship fund to benefit a student athlete from Sayville High School that exemplifies Mitchell’s spirit and dedication to academic and athletic excellence.

Mitch spent his last seven summers as a lifeguard at the Point O’ Woods community on Fire Island. As part of his workout each day, he would run from the lifeguard stand at Point O’ Woods to the stand at Sailors Haven and back, a distance of about three miles.
