Maritime Museum Bestows Honors at Awards Dinner

More than 200 attended the Long Island Maritime Museum’s annual Trustees’ Dinner at Land’s End on April 25.

This year the Polaris Award for Excellence recipients included Hon. Tom Croci, Islip Town Supervisor, Alfred Romito, owner-president of the East Islip Lumber Company and Professor John Tanacredi, department chairperson of Dowling College's Earth & Marine Sciences department. 

“These honorees exemplify the characteristics we strive to put into practice at the Long Island Maritime Museum. Their contributions to both their local communities and to Long Island as a whole have been significant and it gives me great pleasure that our Board of Trustees has chosen to recognize such worthy individuals.” said Mike Eagan, chairman of The Board of the Long Island Maritime Museum.
