Help Save a Life: Summer Blood Drive Happening Tuesday

Donors receive two free Met tickets for donating.

A summer blood drive will be held at the Sayville Fire Department on July 9, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the firehouse at 107 North Main Street.

All donors will receive two free Mets tickets for supporting the blood drive.

This extra blood drive is being held due to the dangerously low supply of blood and the high demand of blood during the summer months.

Blood donors are ordinary people … high school students, firefighters and police officers, factory and office workers, business executives, parents and grandparents, and people from every walk of life.  But they share one thing … a generous spirit, a desire to give back to their community and to others.

Blood donors play an integral role in the delivery of modern healthcare.  Many life-saving medical treatments and procedures involve blood transfusions and would not be possible without a safe and reliable blood supply.
