Don't Miss: Car Show Fundraiser for ROHADD Monday Night

The dinner-car exhibit aims to help find a cure for rare disease.

A car show fundraiser event to raise money to find a cure for ROHHAD will take place Monday, July 22 at Mannino's restaurant in Oakdale.

The local ROHHAD spokesperson is Marisa Carney, of Sayville, who  was diagnosed with the extremely rare childhood brain disorder, Rapid-onset Obesity with Hypothalamic Dysfunction and Autonomic Dysregulation, that’s difficult to diagnose and treat. There are only 75 known cases worldwide.

The disease strikes the part of the brain called the hypothalamus, which sends signals to the rest of the body to regulate automatic functions such as breathing, heartbeat, body temperature and digestion.
