Community Ambulance Co-Sponsors Annual EMS Training

The third annual program focused on water and boating incidents.

Emergency medical services is an ever evolving field and the dedicated volunteers providing EMS care in Suffolk County always strive to deliver quality pre-hospital care.

In their efforts to provide quality care to the residents of their communities many these volunteers spend many hours training and developing their skills. One way of doing this is attending lectures called CMEs or continuing medical education classes. These classes often encompass a broad range of topics, ensuring that our EMS providers will be ready, no matter the nature of the emergency to which they are called.

An important aspect of providing quality emergent care is maintaining a strong working relationship between EMS providers and the hospital personnel that take over patient care after EMS crews arrive at the emergency department.

Community Ambulance works to develop that relationship by bringing the expertise of the hospital staff to the EMS providers in the form of lectures.

For the third consecutive year Community Ambulance Company and North Shore LIJ Southside Hospital cosponsored a CME on Fire Island, bringing together volunteers from all over Suffolk County. On Thursday July 18, 2013 more than 100 EMS providers from Suffolk County attended the lecture.
