Graduation, Degree News of Local Alumnus

Many Sayville, Bayport, Blue Point residents have excelled on the college level.

As high school graduation looms comes tons of news releases about alumnus who are graduating and achieving on the college level.

Here’s a rundown of local students’ achievements and graduations:

Eva Strobl, of Blue Point, has been placed on the Gettysburg College Dean's Honor list for outstanding academic achievement in Spring 2012. Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester's work are placed on the College's Dean's Honor List.

Patrick Tartaro, a senior in Finance from Bayport was named to the spring semester Dean's List at Bryant University.

Jenna Lynn Scardino, of Bayport, was named to the Dean's List at the University of Rhode Island for the Spring semester.

Gardner-Webb University is pleased to announce that Kathryn Wise of Blue Point, was among the nearly 700 students who recently graduated during its 2012 spring commencement exercises. Wise graduated with a BA in Sociology.

Meghan Richardson, of Blue Point, was named to Spring Semester Dean's List at Salve Regina University

Bridget Kelly, from Bayport, was named to the Dean's List at The State University of New York at Geneseo for the spring semester 2012..

Megan Sue Hamill, of Bayport, the daughter of James and Susan Hamill, and a 2008 graduate of Academy of Saint Joseph, was named to the dean's list at Juniata College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.

Kevin Michael Sherry, of Bayport,  has been named to Dean's List at Keene State College for the spring semester 2012.

Stephanie Hasher of Bayport, earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Science Studies from Quinnipiac University during the 81st undergraduate commencement exercises on May 20.

Morgan Malloy, a resident of Blue Point, has achieved a BA in English and Brendan Mitchell, a resident of Blue Point, has achieved a BA in Psychology from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Alyssa A. Cottone, of Blue Point, will  receive a degree in baccalaureate studies in wellness management this year at SUNY Oswego.

Samantha Ispay, of Blue Point, was recently inducted into the two-year National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, at SUNY Delhi. Ispay is pursuing an associate's degree in veterinary science technology.
