Davis Park Among Local Beaches Opening Memorial Day Weekend

Lifeguards will start being on duty Saturday.

Davis Park Beach on Fire Island will be among Brookhaven Town beaches opening this weekend for the summer recreation season, announced Brookhaven Town in a release.

Also opening will be Corey Beach in Blue Point, Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai, West Meadow Beach in Stony Brook, which will have lifeguards on duty this Saturday through Monday from 10:15 a.m.-6:15 p.m.

According to the Town's release, beaches will be open only weekends from June 1 through June 23, and then will open seven-days a week starting July 3 through Sept. 2.

Great Gunn Beach on Fire Island will be open from July 3 to July 7 starting July 11 and will be open Thursday through Monday until Sept. 2. All Town marinas have been open and fully operational since May 11.
