The Youngest Phantoms Play Hard

Bayport-Blue Point Youth football players and cheerleaders participated in the Sunday game.

The chill of fall is finally in the air, and with fall comes football and cheerleading, even for the youngest members of our community.

The Bayport-Blue Point PAL Football and Cheerleading League played its first home game behind J on Sunday. 

The cheerleaders were on the sideline shouting “Let’s go Phantoms” and waving blue and gold pom poms while the players tackled the other team on the field. Family and friends stood on the sidelines to support the children of the youth league.

With nearly 100 players, this season marks the sixth year for the B-BP youth football and cheerleading league.

The children are broken down into different squads by age and weight. Football is for second to seventh-graders and cheerleading is for ages 4-12.
