Football: Steven Ferreira continued his aerial assault on Suffolk County on Friday night, throwing for 261 yards and four touchdowns as the Golden Flashes The Sayville quarterback completed 14 of 23 passes, including a 67-yard completion to Matt Starr early in the first quarter. Starr caught three of Ferreira's four touchdowns. The Golden Flashes will host Huntington on October 1 at 2 p.m.
Boys Soccer: Dakota Edwards' goal with just under three minutes to play in overtime lifted Sayville past Eastport-South Manor on Wednesday, 3-2. A 2-0 victory over Miller Place on Saturday has the defending state champs sitting at 3-0 in League V.
Girls Soccer: In their first two league games, the Golden Flashes have scored 14 goals, in blowout victories over Amityville, 8-0, and Westhampton, 6-0. In Saturday's thrashing of Westhampton, Sayville had six different players find the back of the net.

Field Hockey: Taylor Mills continues to dominate Division II. Her four goals on Wednesday paced the Golden Flashes to a 5-0 drubbing of Connetquot in their only game of a rain-shortened week. The girls will resume play today, as they host Bayport-Blue Point.
