Girls Soccer: The girls soccer team is off to a fast 3-0 start thanks to one-goal victories over Bayport, 1-0, Half Hollow Hills West, 2-1, and Connetquot, 2-1. They'll be looking to advance to the Long Island championship for the second year in a row, and will begin their League VI title defense at home against Amityville on Monday afternoon.

Field Hockey: Olivia Russell's first varsity goal couldn't have come at a better time for Sayville. The sophomore's game-winner in overtime pushed the Golden Flashes past Ward Melville and out to a 2-0 start in 2011. Taylor Mills also had three goals in a 5-1 thrashing of West Islip on Thursday in the team's Division II opener.
