Baseball and softball advance, boys and girls lacrosse endure early playoff exits.
Baseball: The top seed in the Class A double-elimination bracket survived their , advancing to the semifinals of the winner's bracket with a 2-1 win. Mike Hewson slugged his 10th homer of the season and Brendan Butler danced in and out of trouble over seven innings of work to secure the victory.
Softball: Olivia Kaczmarek and Cindy Griffin provided enough offense to push Sayville, the second seed in Class A, past Bayport, 8-3, Thursday afternoon. The duo combined to go 4-for-6 with four runs scored. They will host the winner of Mt. Sinai and Shoreham-Wading River on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Boys Lacrosse: The lacrosse team's season came to an abrupt end in the first round of the playoffs Saturday, as they lost 9-8 to Shoreham-Wading River. Jake Sichenzia's four goals led all scorers, but it wasn't enough for the Golden Flashes.

Girls Lacrosse: After manhandling Comsewogue in the opening round of the playoffs, 18-5, the second seed in the Division II bracket was upset by Shoreham-Wading River on Tuesday, 13-12. After trailing 9-4 at halftime and 13-8 with just over five minutes to play, the Golden Flashes stormed back but fell one goal short of forcing overtime.
Girls Golf: Shannon Haselton and Kayla Grossi led the Golden Flashes to an undefeated 10-0 season this spring. The team repeated as League VI champions.
