Phantoms Scoreboard: Football Falls Late

Week of Sept. 18-Sept. 25

Football: The Phantoms were unable to hold onto a 21-13 fourth quarter lead, and fell 22-21 to Port Jefferson on Saturday. The loss drops them to 0-3 with Amityville coming to town on October 1 at 2 p.m.

Boys Soccer: In the only game of a rain-shortened week, the Phantoms fell to East Hampton, 5-0. Bayport goaltender Brian Ward was under siege all day, but was able to make nine saves. Due to the inclement weather this week, the Phantoms will play back-to-back days early next week. They will travel to Amityville on Monday before hosting Shoreham-Wading River on Tuesday.

Girls Soccer: The Lady Phantoms notched three big wins this week. After shutting out Babylon, 6-0, and Hampton Bays, 4-0, the girls edged out Mt. Sinai, 3-1, on the strength of two second-half goals. Rebecca Raber scored two of the three goals, while Danielle Heyder added one of her own.
