Baseball: The Phantoms dropped a pair of close games to first-place Glenn this week, 4-3 on Tuesday and 4-2 on Thursday. Bayport ran into trouble and could not get runs against Richard Bartumioli and Logan Allen, who both pitched complete games for Glenn. If not for a great play by centerfielder Matt Toich in the seventh inning, the Phantoms could've easily taken game one. They fall to 5-8 in League VII, and will have to go on a tear to end the season if they are to make the playoffs.
Softball: The Lady Phantoms split a pair of non-league contests this week, bouncing back from a 11-7 loss to Port Jefferson on Tuesday to beat Southold on Thursday, 9-3. Meg Brewer's three-run shot in the fifth gave Bayport a lead they would not relinquish. They remain at 9-2 in League VII, and improve to 10-4 overall.
Boys Lacrosse: After beating up on two of the lesser teams in League II earlier in the week, Bayport ran into undefeated Comsewogue on Thursday and fell 8-3. Mike DeBlasio, who had seven goals, and three assists in a 20-9 win over East Hampton on Tuesday, was held to just one goal against Comsewogue. They fell to 8-3 in League II, still occupying third place.

Girls Lacrosse: The girls team suffered a similar fate as the boys, as they lost to undefeated Hauppauge on Thursday, 11-5. Courtney Dooley scored three of the Phantoms' five goals, but the Eagles were too strong. The loss dropped them to 6-4 in League II, still very much alive in the playoff hunt.
