Phantoms Scoreboard: Baseball Fighting For Playoff Spot

As Patch reported earlier this week, the Phantoms girls track team concluded an , clinching their first league title since 2006. Below, we give readers an update on other Phantoms teams.
Baseball: After two blowout wins this week over Center Moriches, the Phantoms playoff hopes are still alive. They sit at 8-8, needing 10 wins to qualify. Chris Brewer and Mike Ingargiola each provided lengthy starts on the hill for Bayport, who won games 13-1 and 15-6. They'll have to win their final two regular season games against Hampton Bays (6-10) to earn a spot.
Softball: Meg Brewer continued her dominance of League VII this week, collecting her sixth and seventh wins against Hampton Bays. Kathleen McKeveny broke out with seven RBI in a 14-0 victory on Tuesday, and Kathleen Bailey added four more to up her weekly total to seven in a 13-2 romp on Wednesday. They currently sit in third with two games in hand on both Mt. Sinai and Center Moriches.

Boys Lacrosse: Brian White had six goals in a narrow defeat 10-9 of Mt. Sinai Wednesday. The Phantoms squandered a 6-3 halftime lead before Adam Berlin notched his second goal of the day, the eventual game-winner. The Phantoms now sit in third place and are primed for the postseason.
Girls Lacrosse: Genevieve Stickney and Loren Generi traded seven-goal performances in a pair of big victories this week for the Lady Phantoms. Generi dominated Huntington on Tuesday, scoring seven in a 19-12 victory. Stickney, not to be outdone by her fellow senior, put in seven of her own and added two assists on Wednesday in another crucial game against Shoreham-Wading River. They're one of five teams tied for third place at 9-4 right now.
