It was a real runners party morning, featuring a nice 10 mile course, great post-race refreshments highlighted by the best brews of the Blue Point Brewery, and a great job livening up the crowd inside the tent by DJ John Gil.

“A lot of work went into this event, complicated by the last minute postponement from January 8 to January 15, and the fact that there was a lot of snow and ice on race day (including ice in the tent),” said Mike Polansky, president of the Greater Long Island Running Club. “Thanks go to Ric DiVeglio, who chaired the event for the Greater Long Island Running Club. Thanks certainly are due to Brendan Barrett and Mike Nolan of the Sayville Running Company, who were a pleasure to work with and made putting the event together a pleasure even under the trying circumstances.  Thanks of course go to Pete Cotter and all the other wonderful folks who staff the Blue Point Brewery, and to Nikita Dorcovil of justfinish.net for an excellent job with the timing and scoring.”
