10th Annual Kristen's Walk to the Water

Kristen Leigh Kessler, a much loved and outgoing 18 year old, lost her battle with leukemia in March of 1993. Her love for dolphins and the ocean has been recognized through an annual three mile walk down to the water and back in the town of Sayville in her honor. Kristen's family looks forward to familiar faces and friends to join them on this journey.

Our Mission is to "put a smile" on the faces of children who are ill. We also make donations in our organization's name for continued research to help find a cure for leukemia. Kristen's family feels rewarded each time another child's dream comes true, whether big or small.

Walkers may collect donations from family, friends, and co-workers. Donations can be turned in at registration on the day of the walk or through use of the website (see below). All donations go to children who are sick through the Candle in the Darkness Foundation, Inc. which enables all of us to put smiles on their faces. All donations are greatly appreciated and should be made out to Candle in the Darkness Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization.
