B-BP Grad Gets Rookie of Week Honors at Adelphi

Lacrosse star is a major force on Panther squad.

Bayport-Blue Point graduate Rachel O'Brien is making her athletic mark at Adelphi University and was named Rookie of the Week in the first two weeks of the college's women's lacrosse season.

O'Brien has started in each game of the season  and is one of seven Panthers receiving athletic accolades.
 
O'Brien is ranked among the top-nine in the conference in goals (48), assists (18) and points (66). Those marks are also second among the Panther squad and have landed her on the First-Team at attack, All-Rookie Team inclusion and Conference Rookie of the Year status.

O'Brien, of Bayport, plays the attack position and is the daughter of Pat and Annette O'Brien. She is majoring in graphic design. At  she played two years of soccer, three years of basketball and four years of lacrosse and was a four-time All-Division honoree in lacrosse and earned the Alumni Loyalty Award.
