B-BP Baseball Makes History With 20-Win Undefeated Season

Playoffs start Wednesday. Phantoms play home against Rocky Point.

The B-BP Varsity Baseball team made history last week when they defeated Shoreham-Wading River on Friday and Saturday and finished the regular season at 20-0.

It's the first time in the history of the district baseball program that a team has finished undefeated in the regular season.

In Friday's game,  Alex Dura went 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, a run and three RBIs. Ryan Dollop and Sal Geraci both went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.  The Phantoms won 13-4.

In the Saturday game, in which B-BP beat SWR 4-2, P.J. Weeks pitched a perfect seventh inning to earn a save, according to a Newsday report.

The Suffolk County Class A playoffs start on Wednesday. Eighth-seeded Rocky Point will play at No. 1 Bayport-Blue Point on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The Phantoms are currently ranked #4 in New York State's Class A by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
