B-BP Alumnus Heading Up St. Joe's Track & Field Programs

Matthew Perry also serves as assistant coach for the reigning Skyline Conference champion St. Joseph's men's and women's cross country teams.

Bayport-Blue Point graduate Matthew Perry has been appointed the new head coach of the men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field programs at St. Joseph's College-Long Island.  He will also continue to serve in his third year this fall as the assistant coach for the reigning Skyline Conference champion St. Joseph's men's and women's cross country teams.

"I'm really excited about this opportunity to help the program grow.  I've enjoyed being a part of the cross country program and working with the athletes, so to be able to continue working into the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons is a wonderful opportunity," said Perry.

Perry is a former track and field athlete at the University of Albany where he experienced a great deal of success as an individual champion in multiple events including a CTC championship in 1997.  He holds multiple program records at Albany and gained a wealth of experience as he attended the university while it was transitioning from the NCAA's Division III to a Division I institution.
