Bayport-Blue Point Grad Named Player of Week for Soccer Play

Sophmore Bearcat honored for goals and assists excellence.

Bayport-Blue Point 2012 graduate Rebecca Raber was named the America East Player of the Week at Binghamton University on September 9 for her play on the Bearcat women's soccer team.

Raber contributed to three of the five Binghamton goals during that week of play. past week. It marks the first time in her career that she has earned the conference’s weekly award.

Raber finished the week of Sept. 9 with four points as Binghamton went 2-0-0 to stretch its winning streak to four games. She had a goal and an assist in Binghamton’s 2-0 win over Lafayette and tallied an assist on the game-winning goal against Niagara. Raber played a part in three of the Bearcats’ five goals during the week.

“Rebecca did a great job for us this week,” head coach Sarah McClellan said. “Her goal against Lafayette on Friday was world class and she set up her teammates well on the other two goals.”
