Baymen Soccer Club Team Takes U12 State Cup

Patch sincerely thanks John Forster, PGA Owner Long Island Sportsplex, Inc., for contributing this article which was posted by Judy Mottl.

The Baymen Soccer Club’s “Bayport Tsunami” has won the 2013 Boy’s U12 Soccer State Cup Championship.

The boys under 12 "Bayport Tsunami" team travelled this past Saturday morning to Lagrangeville, New York to take on an equally as talented New Hyde Park team in the State Cup Finals.

The Tsunami pulled out a 3-2 victory in regular time to emerge the 2013 NY State Cup Soccer Championship in their age group.  Many of these boys have been playing together since they were 4 and 5 years old at Baymen Soccer Club in Sayville.

The team is coached by two Sayville dads; Fabio Berlingieri and John Forster, and new professional coach/trainer Eddie Hackett from Bohemia.
The boys have been working extremely hard over the past few seasons, now culminating in a State Cup Championship, as well as sitting atop of the standings in the Eastern NY Premier League.

It’s a wonderful accomplishment for the boys and might be a glimpse into the future successes of both Sayville and Bayport Soccer at the high school level as there are currently six Sayville students, and three Bayport students on the Tsunami roster.

Sayville: Liam Berlingieri, JJ Forster, Donald McAuliff, Andrew Braverman, Kolbi Maddy, and Jack Davis.

Bayport: Brendan Slattery, Anthony Badalamenti, and Connor Nilan.

Also playing with the Tsunami from surrounding towns, team members include; Andrew Weltner, Kameron Blaise, Frank Cassano, Michael Casamassina, and the nephew of the Sayville Girl’s Varsity Soccer coach, William Nasta.  Congratulation boys for bringing home a State Championship to your community.
