B-BP Alum Nominated for Tewaaraton Award

Kerry Stoothoff was named a Tewaaraton nominee for her athletic accomplishments at Loyola University.

Blue Point resident Kerry Stoothoff is one of 23 females in the country  who was nominated for the 2011 Tewaaraton Award, the nation’s pre-eminent collegiate lacrosse accolade, for her accomplishments at Loyola University in Maryland.

Stoothoff, a goalkeeper in her junior year at Loyola, has achieved many accomplishments during her time there, and for that, she was named a nominee in the running for this prestigious award, which is presented to the top male and female collegiate lacrosse player.

The watch list began with over 100 names, and has been whittled down to 25 males and 24 females. This year’s nominees represent 23 different schools and some of the country’s top lacrosse programs. Five male and five female finalists will be selected from the nominees. Finalists will be invited to the award ceremony in June where a male and a female winner will be honored.
