Young B-BP Authors Inspire Playwrights

Bayport-Blue Point elementary school students regularly demonstrate their
creativity through school projects and writing assignments.

Encouraging the district’s budding young authors to embrace their literary talents, students from each of the three elementary schools recently penned original stories that showcased the English language arts skills they have gained through classroom studies.

These stories were submitted to Child’s Play, a touring theater company that visits schools throughout the United States to perform works written by students.

During their visit to each school, the talented professionals of Child’s Play chose three student-composed plays out of the many submissions to act out.

The students were pleasantly surprised to have their pieces selected and enjoyed watching their stories come to life. In addition to the school winners, several students at each building were namedhonorable mentions in the call for playwrights.
