Wednesday is 'Walk to School Day' for Cherry Ave. Students
Sayville parents of elementary students are being asked to leave the car behind.
Remember your grandparents telling you they used to walk 10 miles in the snow and scorching sun to get to school? Have you been guilty of relaying the same story to your kids? Patch must confess it's been said a few times in the Patch household as well.
But Wednesday offers a great opportunity for Cherry Avenue Elementary families to create a memory of walking to school together once again.
Students and parents are encouraged to leave the cars and take to the sidewalks on legs and bikes.
