There is currently no limit on how long a school board of education trustee can serve and in many districts there are board members hitting double-digit tenures.
Advocates of unlimited BOE terms say the job requires at least two terms given all the intricacies and issues that members need to learn about.
Critics of that stance and those want term limits believe longevity by a board member is not a good thing and that fresh faces and ideas are only brought on by new members.
So what's your take? Do you think there should be a term limit and if so what would it be? Take the poll below and also give us some feedback in the comments. We'll compile the results Friday.
