Scenes of B-BP's Homecoming Celebration

The weather was great for the annual event highlighted by a win on the football field.

Sunny skies and cheering fans were the order of the day during this year’s homecoming festivities in the Bayport-Blue Point School District as the community came together in mid-October to support their hometown Phantoms.

Lining the streets leading to the high school, parade-goers sported their blue and gold and watched as community fire trucks, student musicians, the high school marching band, class floats (decorated to represent the homecoming theme of “Seasons”), and students from the elementary and middle schools carrying school banners made their way to the football stadium.

Prior to kickoff, the seniors from the varsity football team and cheerleading squad took to the field with their parents as a way to honor their parents and recognize all of the years they have dedicated to their student-athlete children.

Students Bob Vetri and Delaney Miller were also named this year’s homecoming king and queen.

The opposing team from Greenport/Southold/Mattituck/Shelter Island proved to be no competition for the Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms as they took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and finished the game 21-7.
