Sayville Senior Earns Scholastic Achievement

Heather Leahy earned the 2013-2014 National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar award.

Needing a junior-year cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher to qualify, Sayville Senior Heather Leahy earned the 2013-2014 National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar status as a result of her 2012 PSAT/MMSQAT/PAA scores. 

Initiated in 1983 to identify outstanding high school students who are at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino, the National Hispanic Recognition Program this year recognized about 5,300 students from a pool of over 259,000 students.
