Sayville Rotary Club Partners With Blue Point School on Reading

Club participates in read-aloud story time throughout the year.

Blue Point Elementary School’s collaborative reading and character education program with the Sayville Rotary Club continues to offer countless benefits to the school’s students.

The effort, organized by Sayville Rotarian Chestine Coverdale, is a read-aloud story time that connects literacy with character education.

Throughout the year, members of the Sayville Rotary visit the school’s second-grade students to share a story and speak about the club’s important messages.

This year’s program commenced in October when Rotary member Eleanor Duncker visited with Mrs. Mills and & Ms. Campbell’s class to read a story that exemplified the character trait of patience.

Principal Diana Ketcham and Blue Point library media specialist Susan Brinkman work closely with the Sayville Rotary to continue fostering this initiative.
