Sayville Middle School Pays Homage to 9/11 Anniversary

In a symbolic and moving tribute students honored the tragic events on 9/11/2001.

Eleven years ago, the current sixth-graders in Sayville School District had only been born, the seventh-graders were just one year old, and the eighth-graders were mere toddlers.

Yet, at Sayville Middle School, the quiet memorial activity of planting American flags on the front lawn on this 11th anniversary of September 11th ensured that our young generation would participate in remembering those who perished in 2001.

Perfect weather permitted the entire Middle School community to commemorate 9-11 with dignity and honor as they planted each flag during lunch periods throughout the day.
