Sayville High School History Club Goes National

The group has been admitted into the National History Club organization.

Hearty congratulations go to the Sayville High School History Club and its members for their acceptance into the National History Club, and a very special "thank you" goes to Vice-President, Susan Mangaluz, who prepared the club's application and wrote the required essay describing the club's goals and activities.

Fellow officers: Dan Hunt, Sabrina Mayrose, Nicole DelGuardio, and Anna Mizzi shared in the good news that was announced recently.

The Sayville's History Club members have been very active for many years with community-service and volunteer programs, informational field trips to both local and national historic sites, and school-spirit activities.

This past winter, the vub earned special recognition and a plaque from the Veterans of Foreign Wars.The VFW awarded both the History Club (moderators Susan Hart and Michael Pace) and the Sayville High School Student Government (moderator Mike Huggins) for regularly visiting the Veteran’s Hospitals in Northport and Stony Brook.

As a member of the National History Club, Sayville's History Club joins 12,000 students in 43 states. Sayville History Club members are also eligible for acceptance into the National History Club Honor Society. This will be determined on member participation and GPA their social studies classes.
