Quick Snip of a Box Can Help Students

The Box Tops for Education program is a simple way for the community to raise money for their schools.

The members of the Bayport-Blue Point School District PTAs are tireless in their efforts to raise funds to enhance all children’s school experience, and members say the Box Tops for Education program is an easy way to raise funds.

Contributing companies put Box Tops coupons on their products - everything from brownies to paper towels. Once a school is registered in the program they can start collecting the tops, which are redeemed for money when the school sends them in.

has collected Box Tops for several years. Christine Fedorys heads the program for Blue Point PTA.

“I am very passionate about Box Tops. It's a wonderful program because there is no additional cost and everyone can contribute.”

Last year the school received $600 from the program, and this year the PTA hopes to raise $1,000. To reach this goal, Fedorys is putting a Box Tops collection box in each classroom, and will hold monthly contests to see which class can collect the most.  The winning class, including the teacher, will win a prize.

Box Tops can also now be collected electronically when making online purchases.  This way parents, grandparents, teachers and neighbors can all collect Box Tops for Education.
