Inside the Great Sayville Wirless Station
Completed in 1912 by the German firm, Telefunken, the West Sayville station was the most powerful and technologically advanced in America, the first able to consistently span the Atlantic exchanging traffic daily with it's sister station in Nauen, Germany, which became the only direct link between the United States and Germany during World War I. Join us for a rare look inside the station and explore its then high power apparatus with radio historian, George Flanagan.
