Drug and Alcohol Education Prevention ACCESS Program
Islip, N.Y. – Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan is pleased to announce that residents can still attend the Drug and Alcohol Prevention Education program. The program consists of a series of 12 classes offered in both the Spring and Fall. Participants will earn a certificate for those who complete all 12 classes (Note: it is possible to take classes in both the Spring and Fall if necessary; a certificate will still be awarded for completing all 12 classes).
The series is geared towards understanding the disease of addiction and identifying problems related to drug and alcohol abuse. The program is sponsored by the Town of Islip ACCESS-Department of Human Services and Dowling College. The program is geared toward helping parents, teachers, and young adults recognize the signs of substance abuse.
The classes take place on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Fortunoff Hall and Kramer Science Center, both of which are located on the Dowling College Rudolph-Oakdale Campus.
