Donate Gently Used Jeans for a Good Cause

Sayville, Bayport student groups are participating in the collection effort.

The South Shore Community Organization’s Leadership in the Community Program is spearheading an effort to clothe homeless teens in New York by collecting gently used jeans.

Working in partnership with South Shore, the Islip High School Junior Chamber of Commerce Club, the Islip High School KIC Club, the Sayville High School Anchor Club, the Bayport Blue Point High School National Honor Society and Ecology Clubs and the Sayville Community Ambulance Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts have joined forces in the “Teens for Jeans” campaign.

The project will donate the gently used jeans to local homeless shelters through local Aéropostale stores and the DOsomething.org organization.

The jean collection is taking place through February 1, 2013. The South Shore Community Organization will be bringing the collected jeans to Islip High School on Friday, February 1, 2013.
